In his book, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, John Gray says that "men and women differ in all areas of their lives. Not only do men and women communicate differently but they think, feel, perceive, react, respond, love, need and appreciate differently. They almost seem to be from different planets, speaking different languages and needing different nourishment."
John Gray says, "Imagine that women have a love tank similar to the gas tank on a car. It needs to be filled over and over again. Doing many little things is the secret for filling a woman's love tank. A woman feels loved when her love tank is full. Lots of little things are needed to top off her tank."
What are some of the "little" things women need to top off their tank?
- How about giving her a hug and kiss as soon as you return home in the evenings.
- Ask her specific questions about her day that show you are aware of what she was planning to do that day.
- Take out the trash without being asked
- Warm up her car engine before she goes out on cold mornings (I love that one!).
- Turn off the tv and look her in the eyes and have a conversation.
- Try asking her what will make her feel loved.
So don't give up on giving her the perfect token of your affection - but first make sure her love tank is full. That's when she'll really feel the love behind your gift.
